CCD will be a virtual-only program through December
CCD lessons will be offered over Zoom
Grade-Based Masses will be offered during the Fall at one of our parish weekend Masses.
We anticipate in-person classes to begin in 2021 - we will see what the latest safety recommendations are to ensure a safe classroom instruction.
CCD lessons over Zoom Each grade will have a scheduled class time on Zoom and the students will have the opportunity to participate in the lesson and ask questions. The Zoom classes will be recorded and students who cannot join or who don’t want to participate can view the lecture at another time. We are also willing to offer virtual office hours for families who would like additional support.
Grade-Based Masses It is also important to build a sense of community in the physical world. Therefore, each month all Holy Family Parish students (CCD families and Catholic School families) will have the opportunity to attend a grade-based Mass, in which the students will be invited to serve as lectors, ushers, and altar servers or just be present. (Each month will feature a different class grade. For example, we will start with 6th graders in October.) These Masses will be for students and families to be in community together with safe social distancing and sacred worship. After the student Masses, we will offer group activities (such as crafts or skits).
We know this is not the ideal situation, we want you to know that we are here to support you in every step of the way. These are not permanent changes to our CCD program and once it is safe for our children and volunteers to continue with in-person classes, we will do that. We anticipate being able to have in-person classes in 2021.
If you have any questions about the program, please don't hesitate to contact us!
Thank you again for your patience and understanding,
Bob Federline
